Feature on The Nod - Playing the Race Card

This fall, I taught an "Inequality in the U.S." course here at CC. As part of a redesign of the course. I thought about ways in which I could really get students to think critically about race. Specifically, what is Blackness? What is Whiteness? And how do these things change across time and space. So I decided to employ a new game in the classroom called Trading Races. My classroom of largely white students had to argue, "Who's Blacker? Lil' Kim or Sojourner Truth?" Want to know more?
